Hi everyone,
People sometimes ask me how I put together the list of small events on www.festivalsandretreats.com - did I go to all of those events?
No, but I have friends and friends of friends who did :)
I spent a month asking for recommendations and started to populate a calendar full of small events where you can go by yourself and make friends easily, make authentic connections, find self-expression.
Here are a few events to consider:
Vocal Improvisation and Circle Singing Retreat
11 - 13 July, Italy
‘This retreat is designed for passionate singers and vocal explorers who wish to deepen their skills or dive into the world of collaborative vocal improvisation and circle song composition. No prior experience is necessary—just a genuine desire to connect with others through voice and song.’
14 - 17 August, Wales
‘Green Man is an alternative music festival set in Wales ‘where mystical ley lines meet amid ancient Welsh oak trees. There are up to 1500 multi-arts acts performed across 17 stages, as well as Gaeli music sessions, all-night bonfires and secret gigs here and there.’
28 August - 1 September, Czech Republic
‘In the hidden corner of the Czech Republic lies a sacred space within a forest with a beautiful chapel. We invite you to join us in a celebration of sacred music (Icaros, mantras, music with heart and soul), dance, informative talks, cacao ceremony, open and closing ceremony, meditation, yoga, breathwork, shamanism and medicine culture.’
And there are still a few places on the Festival of Sensuality that I organise (16 - 23 August in the Czech Republic) but it’s nearly full now…
